Region 区域

Each Amazon EC2 Region is designed to be isolated from the other Amazon EC2 Regions 区域之间隔离,不共享任何内容。

An AWS account provides multiple Regions so that you can launch Amazon EC2 instances in locations that meet your requirements. For example, you might want to launch instances in Europe to be closer to your European customers or to meet legal requirements. 区域之间的隔离,可以让运行在当地的示例更符合当地法律和需求

Availability Zones 可用区

AWS Region has multiple, isolated locations known as Availability Zones 一个区域包含若干个可用区

If you distribute your instances across multiple Availability Zones and one instance fails, you can design your application so that an instance in another Availability Zone can handle requests. 当使用可用区并设计好对应架构后,一个可用区的实例宕机后,另一个可用区将自动接手收取request。

data centers located in different Availability Zones are designed to be supplied by independent substations to reduce the risk. 可用区可以保证数据的安全性。常见讨论:分布式存储三副本技术

The 3-2-1 rule can aid in the backup process. It states that there should be at least 3 copies of the data, stored on 2 different types of storage media, and one copy should be kept offsite, in a remote location (this can include cloud storage).

Local Zones 本地扩展区

AWS Local Zones are a type of AWS infrastructure deployment that places AWS compute, storage, database, and other select services close to large population, industry, and IT centers. AWS Local Zones 是 AWS 基础设施部署的一种形式,可将 AWS 计算、存储、数据库和其他某些初级服务放置在更靠近大量人口聚居的位置,或者靠近行业和 IT 中心的位置。

AWS Local Zones are an extension of an AWS Region. AWS Local Zones 位置是 AWS 区域的扩展


Amazon CloudFront

Amazon CloudFront is a fast content delivery network (CDN) service that securely delivers data, videos, applications, and APIs to customers globally with low latency, high transfer speeds, all within a developer-friendly environment. Amazon CloudFront 是一项快速内容分发网络 (CDN) 服务,可以安全地以低延迟和高传输速度向全球客户分发数据、视频、应用程序和 API,全部都在开发人员友好的环境中完成。

These services co-reside at edge networking locations. 这些服务共同驻留在全球范围内的边缘网络位置

可以理解为,Amazon CloudFront 是放在偏僻地区的“可用区”

AWS Outposts

可以理解为,Outposts是放在本地的“可用区”。AWS Outposts 所使用到的服务器可以是从亚马逊那购买的。
